I created this website and blog to update our friends, who have supported my children and me throughout the years, especially over the past 15 months when I was bedridden for 6 weeks at the log house. Although it was the most physically painful time of my 49 years of life, God caused it for good. God used that time of being still, resting, healing, and recovering to reconnect me with many relationships near and far throughout my life.
My testimony here on the earth is to bear witness unto the truth: to repent and believe the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ, to do justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with my God, to bless, do good, be kind, tender-hearted, forgiving, to honor, to have compassion, to be faithful, to trust and obey the LORD.
“One shall say, I am the LORD’s; and another shall call himself by the name of Jacob; and another shall subscribe with his hand unto the LORD, and surname himself by the name of Israel.” Isaiah 44:5
From June 2015 to January 2017, my heavenly Father granted me a new legal full name on the earth: David Mary Rachel Israel (pronounced Duh-veed Yeesra-el in Hebrew ). I had judged each of these names that the LORD wanted me to bear on the earth. I was so convicted when one of my precious brothers in the Lord, who had counseled me off-and-on for almost 13 years called me “Dah-veed (David)” in April 2016. I am here on the earth to bring honor glory to our Lord Jesus Christ, and He wanted me to be known as his beloved. David (Duh-veed) means “beloved of God”.
One of my precious sisters in the Lord/a daughter in the faith called me “El” as I was going by “Yisra’el” (pronounced Yeesra-el; Israel in Hebrew)” at the time. Then, one of my precious brothers in the Lord/my youngest son called me “Mama-el”. Then, one of my precious sisters in the Lord/my daughter called me “Mama Elle”.
In January 2017, my heavenly Father granted me my current new legal full name on the earth: Leah Eunice Michelle Jacob. My mother rejoiced as she shared her testimony with me of how she had chosen 5 possible first names for me before I was born, but when it came time for her to fill out my birth certificate she couldn’t remember any of her 5 possible names for me, then God gave her the name: Michelle. My former legal first name on the earth was Michelle for the first 46+ years of my life.
On February 18th, 2017, I injured my left leg (bruise on the top of my shin bone). When I was lying down on the floor of the log house, I didn’t want to know if my leg was broken. My precious children gathered around me and one of them said, “Jacob!” Then, I knew why my heavenly Father wanted me to obey Him and call myself by the name of Jacob as we serve the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.
